REPLICA OF THE ALHAMBRA (GRANADA, SPAIN) IN RIYADH

One of the biggest achievements of CAMAR was to successfully manufacture and build an exact replica of the Alhambra Palace from Granada (Spain) in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) by the order of the Saudi royal family in 1998.

More than 500 columns and capitals, 13 fountains (The Fountain of the Lions included), and 2.400 m2 of floor tiles in 3 cm thickness (every tile with the same measures than the original) were made in “White Macael marble” in 7 months.

The Fountain of the Lions

The Fountain of the Lions is formed by 12 different lions and a water basin with 262 cm of diameter and 49 cm thickness made in one massive piece. Craftsmen from CAMAR were sent to Saudi Arabia to do the installation due to the technical nature and complexity of the work.

The ancient Arabs in Spain took 7 centuries to build it, Camar need 7 months to create a piece of paradise in the middle of the desert.
