In the historic center of the town of Macael, the original place of the white marble that bears his name and which has been used for centuries by countless cultures over time.
In honour of the marble with which the palaces of the Alhambra in Granada were built, an imitation of the Fountain of the Lions made by Camar is raised.
It is formed by the main pool of 260 cm in diameter in a dodecagonal shape and surrounded by the 12 lions, 6 males and 6 females according to the legends of the Alhambra around what runs a small channel or water canal also made of White marble from Macael.
During your visit, you can read the translation from classical Arabic of the 12 verses of the poem carved in the song of the main raft by the professors of the University of Granada Darío Cabanelas and Antonio Fernández Puertas.
